Where can the GOP go to find someone who can deter Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s run? You don’t look within. That didn’t work during the primaries with Ted Cruz, John Kasich or Marco Rubio.
Some GOP members want Mark Cuban to challenge Donald Trump for president

Trying to hinder his presidential campaign with politicians didn’t work, so why not head into the world of reality television for help? After all, Donald Trump’s rise to fame in the last decade coincided with The Apprentice.
While this does sound absurd, you have to consider the absurdity of the 2016 presidential primaries. The GOP actually reached out to Shark Tank star and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, according to the Washington Post.
The group of republicans, who include Bill Kristol and Mitt Romney, reached out to Cuban to see if he could start a last-minute campaign. Unfortunately, Cuban declined the offer given the lack of time, but that isn’t stopping him from throwing jabs at Trump.
“He could come after me all he wanted, and he knows I would put him in his place,” Cuban said of Trump. “All that said, again, I don’t see it happening. There isn’t enough time.”
It may have worked given that Cuban is enthusiastic about being that anti-Trump symbol. According to CNN, he called Donald Trump a "friend," but said the presidential candidate is "like the guy who will walk into the bar and say anything."
We might have to wait for 2020 for this one.
