Minor league team debuts outstanding jerseys based on ‘Hey Arnold!’

Hey Arnold—check out those jerseys!
The ‘90s revival is alive and well and nothing is more common than sports teams implementing the use of the nostalgic Nickelodeon name for a one-night event. The Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets held their very own ‘90s night during the NBA regular season. And because of that, news that yet another team is holding a similar event can cause a few eye rolls. Another one of these?
But despite how played-out the Nick festivities are at this point, a minor league team is still able to turn a few heads, get people off their stoops, and drive them to the ballpark with their sweet uniforms.
Baltimore Orioles’ minor league affiliate Frederick Keys did just that. Maybe the jerseys look refreshing in a sports world of ‘90s events because, unlike the others, they focus on one show in particular. Instead of hoping that fans in attendance glean the good vibes from Nickelodeon, the channel, it’s best to focus on one show.
They chose Hey Arnold! which is a great decision. The Keys will represent the football-headed Arnold while Gerald will be represented by the Lynchburg Hillcats.
But even that’s just the start. Sure, dedicating your uniform to the show is great, but why not incorporate Hey Arnold! into the rest of the ballpark? For this game, they’re renaming their park Quigley Stadium. We’re hoping that Mickey Kaline makes a surprise appearance, especially because the hot dog stands will be renamed Mickey’s All Natural Casings Dog Pound.
We would gladly build a shrine made out of gum for the Keys.
