Max Scherzer made a young Mets fan’s day with a game of catch

Before Wednesday’s game between the Nationals and the Mets, Max Scherzer took some time from his warmup to play catch with a young Mets fan. The video above comes from Joe La Rocca, who tweeted at the Nationals’ broadcaster about how Scherzer made his kid’s day. “I’m not giving this ball away. There’s no way,” the fan told his dad, which is pretty much what anyone would do, because that ball touched a baseball star’s hand. That kid’s got bragging rights for the rest of his life.
