According to Garcia, lighting struck the 15th green at The Champions Course at Weeks Park during a storm on Tuesday. The result was a wild pattern on the green that looked like something out of a movie with Thor.
While it makes for a very cool picture, that has to be a greenskeeper’s nightmare. They already have to do enough to keep the greens healthy and rolling pure. I can’t imagine there is a playbook for curing charred grass from lighting. They could always just take advantage of the oddity and put the cup right in the middle of the strike.
