Lil Wayne and Birdman bet thousands of dollars on Madden games they didn’t even play

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Betting on video games is the newest way for people to gamble money, which is something that has happened pretty much since the concept of money existed. This story isn’t a surprise, but we love it so much for its ridiculousness.

Apparently, Lil Wayne and Birdman, presumably in the apex of the Young Money days, bet loads of cash -- we’re talking five figures -- on computer-simulated matches of Madden. Here’s how T-Pain described it (which you can see video of on Complex’s page):

When I used to be in the studio with Lil Wayne all the time and Birdman, Lil Wayne and Birdman would bet money. Lil Wayne and Birdman would bet $10,000 a game on Madden, and they would just let the computer play each other. They would bet that a team they pick would beat the team that the other guy picked, and they didn’t play the game. They just let the computer play each other, and they would just bet $10,000 on that game. I thought that was the most ballingest shit I had ever seen in my life.

Those two have a lot of money to blow, and it’s not like they’re going to spend it on a lollipop, so throwing a milli on some Madden games seems reasonable enough to me.
