1. For one year, Niall Brady, a Scottish teenager* spent nearly a year trying to throw a spoon into a mug behind his head. It might sound like a waste of time until you watch the video, which is very rewarding.
Kitchen athlete spent a year tossing a spoon at a mug before he achieved glory
And thank goodness he did!
(*I originally guessed this based on context clues and now I feel really bad because Brady is actually 23 and lives in Ireland. Apologies, my man.)
2. I enjoyed watching the progression of Brady’s various graphic tees and that his hair never changed nearly the entire time. When you’ve got good hair, why mess with it?
3. Before you try to debunk it, no, there aren’t more than 300 videos here. This is just as many that Brady saved on his phone, which is how Snapchat works. Also, don’t complain about the video -- it’s vertical because that’s the best way to film on Snapchat.
4. At 1:28, Brady makes it in the “wrong fookin’ mug.” That’s the saddest thing I’ve ever seen.
5. The sheer happiness and joy from Brady when he makes the shot inspires me to go live a better life. I’m so proud of him.
6. If I were a wise person, I’d say something about how the “true lesson Brady learned was perseverance,” but I’m not and now I just want to go flip spoons and I’m just going to say this is a fookin’ dope idea.
7. Spoon tossing is about to overtake bottle flipping as the leading sport among internet-happy teenagers, I’m officially predicting.
