Crying Jordan went from internet meme to real-life album art thanks to Schoolboy Q

OK, internet, now you’ve done it. The majority of the Crying Jordans in this world have been confined to the internet. And there have been some instances of the infamous meme coming into real life. Every now and then you see the occasional Crying Jordan mask or graduation cap decoration.
But now we’re getting to the point where this work of art — because it truly is a masterpiece — is branching out to the real world, and that is true more than ever thanks to Schoolboy Q.
He took the meme a step further by making it album art — sort of! Sure, Michael Jordan’s actual face isn’t on the cover, but anyone can tell you that is the infamous photo in question. The name of the LP is Blank Face, which makes perfect sense.
And it doesn’t look bad at all. If anything, Schoolboy Q’s cover shows us that Crying Michael Jordan belongs in the art world, alongside treasured works such as the Mona Lisa.
But art is not limited to museums, as Schoolboy Q would tell you. Album art holds a special place in our collective cultural aesthetic as well.
You see how normal this looks? in fact, it even looks great on Schoolboy Q’s older album.
