Robot Dog becomes a better pet when you set it to Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’

This week, Boston Dynamics -- the fine folks that created a walking robot you can bully with a hockey stick -- created a new robot. It’s called SpotMini. It’s part dog, part giraffe and all metal/plastic/wires/whatever else robots are made of. As you can see in the video below, it navigates pretty well around environments, it can pick up kitchenware and cans without crushing them and it’s prone to slipping on bananas just like the rest of us.

The part that matters to us the most, however, is the fact that it can wiggle its body like it’s about to engage in mating. Somehow, Boston Dynamics found a way to make what initially looks like a menacing robot pet into a sexy one. So, naturally, I did what was necessary, and re-edited the demonstration video into a music video set to Ginuwine’s “Pony.” Because everything is better with “Pony.” You’re welcome.
