Arizona baseball’s hilarious bench now has a music video
When’s the debut album dropping?
The Arizona Wildcats are currently enjoying a deep run in the College World Series, and their dugout has probably the most personality in the tournament field. Robby Medel, the spiritual and philosophical center of the Cats’ bench, has been especially animated throughout the CWS.
Yes, that’s Medel repping the hell out of a box of Cheez-Its during Arizona’s super regional defeat of Mississippi State.
On an off day earlier this week, Robby Medel (No. 34), Michael Hoard (No. 31) and Tyler Crawford (No. 30) teamed up with ESPN’s film crew and shot a short music video in and around Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park set to O.A.R.‘s “This Town.” The trio calls themselves “Bear Down Revolution” or, one assumes, B.D.R. for short. The Wildcats’ media team even made a behind-the-scenes doc to accompany the music video.
Frontman-vocalist Medel decidedly steals the show. He even met ESPN’s Pedro Gomez, and a horse, for his efforts. (Gomez’s son Rios is in the Wildcats’ bullpen, and he’s been on hand for all of Arizona’s tournament games.)
We earnestly await Bear Down Revolution’s coming EP.
