Badminton player loses racket, tries to keep rally alive with her bare hand

Here’s a thing you may or may not know about badminton: you can’t hit the shuttlecock with your hand. It’s an obvious rule, because if you were allowed to do that, that would negate the purpose of rackets. That being said, it didn’t stop Malaysia’s Khe Wei Woon from trying to keep the rally alive with her hand, after getting her racket accidentally smacked by her teammate Vivian Kah Hoo.

Even if her opponents volleyed the shuttle out, Woon and Hoo lost the point -- but they won the match anyway, so this was no big deal. I’d still give Woon some props for thinking on her feet, even if that thinking was totally illegal in the eyes of badminton law.
