Eddie Hall becomes first man to ever lift half a metric ton, nearly kills himself in the process

Congrats! (please be careful)

Strongman Eddie Hall is at it again. He continues to break his own record in the deadlift but this time he went above and beyond, becoming the first man to ever lift 500kg, which is 1102 lbs, which is HALF A METRIC TON. The difference this time? He almost died!

“That nearly killed me. The pressure on my body was surreal. I passed out after. I had nose bleeds. It’s not healthy doing something like that. But I’ve done it. I’m sure it will be in the history books for a very long time.”

Eddie said afterward that he probably never do that lift again. If someone breaks the record one day then maybe he will, but for now he’ll take a break. He still hopes to become the World’s Strongest man one day. You can see the full interview here and the literal nosebleed he’s referring to.
