American triple jumper isn’t sure his girlfriend said ‘yes’ to Olympic proposal

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
This has been a proposal-filled Olympics, and on Tuesday we added another to the list. American triple jumper Will Claye got down on one knee after winning silver and asked his girlfriend, hurdler Queen Harrison, to marry him. Here’s where things get a little complicated -- because Claye isn’t 100 percent sure she said yes. When asked he said, “I think she said yes,” but presumably it was too loud to get a solid answer. Here’s hoping they work this out, otherwise it could be preeeetty awkward.
Some have questioned the timing of these proposals, but it makes sense. You work hard for four years, achieve a goal, then look to settle down. It’s like someone putting off a serious commitment for their career.
