An emotional Manu Ginobili said goodbye to international play

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

While the United States was celebrating a hard-fought victory, one that wasn't as close as their previous games, Argentina was getting emotionally ready to say goodbye to Manu Ginobili.

Ginobili, who has played with Argentina for two decades, said his goodbye to international play, waving to the pro-Argentina crowd in Brazil. Once the clock struck 0:00, teammates and opponents alike hugged the Spurs guard as he wept and prepped himself for an emotional postgame interview.

It's an unfortunate reminder that Ginobili might be saying goodbye to the NBA next season as well. Former Spurs teammate Tim Duncan did it already. But we really hope Ginobili sticks around for longer.
