US water polo team gives their coach their Olympic gold medals after his brother’s death

He ended his 2016 Olympics with another gold medal, and an emotional scene with his team. After flying home for a couple of days, he returned to Rio before the US began its gold medal defense and guided the American team to a repeat of gold on Friday. After winning, the team gathered and placed all of their gold medals around Krikorian’s neck.
These Olympics had to be an incredibly trying and emotional time for Krikorian, and there is nothing that will change the situation and bring his brother back. But this scene had to be one Krikorian will remember for a long time. The Olympics are full of emotional stories and great moments. This one occurred under sad circumstances, but the bond that group shares and this gesture are incredibly inspiring.
