Mo Farah did it again for Great Britain. He won the 5000m with aplomb in 13:03.30. This is his second gold medal in the Rio games.

The United States had not medaled in this event since 1964, but Paul Chelimo finished second in this race behind Farah. Unfortunately, he was disqualified from the race moments later. To make matters worse, he learned about this on live television, with everyone else watching. It was such a heartbreaking moment to watch.
American 41-year old Bernard Lagat was then bumped up to bronze as a result.
UPDATE: The disqualification has been reversed and was awarded the silver medal after all.
