Georgia’s kicker plays football in these excellent hipster glasses

Rodrigo Blankenship became our favorite kicker on Saturday when he took to the field in his thick-rimmed glasses to attempt a field goal. It’s a bold look we don’t see nearly enough — probably because wearing glasses on a field have all sorts of safety issues. The chin strap of his helmet made it look like he had only a pencil mustache, and Twitter began making fun of him.

Some called him a “nerd,” Georgia fans went all-in after he missed a field goal — but it’s all unfair. Rodrigo Blankenship is all of us, or rather he’s what we should all aspire to be. He’s comfortable in his own skin (and glasses) and didn’t care that he would be on national TV wearing glasses under his helmet.
