Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert is in the middle of an internet war with a custom car shop. Being an upset customer isn’t exactly new, but Tolbert’s response was something out of a sitcom. On Monday, Motor Lab Tuning posted the following to their Facebook page.
Mike Tolbert got angry at a car shop and paid them with $3,900 in coins

The claims here are big ones. Threats, non-payment — but perhaps the most eye-opening revelation was how Tolbert finally paid for the $3,900 in work: coins. All coins.
Tolbert was nice enough to bring bank boxes, but even then we’re talking at least 15,600 coins, assuming he brought quarters. The net weight of all that: 195 pounds. Mike Tolbert paid for car work with a cornerback’s weight in coins.
In the interest of fairness, Tolbert is claiming his response was deserved for bad business practices.
Tolbert claims that he was treated differently by the staff and overcharged because he’s “a millionaire.” Comments on the post range from alleged customers on both sides saying they had good work done at the shop, and others alleging poor business practices.
The one thing Tolbert isn’t denying: Paying his bill in coins.
