On the last Monday that Barack Obama holds the title of President of the United States, the Chicago Cubs are visiting him as part of their World Series victory tour.
Chicago Cubs will visit President Obama during his last week in office
“If you don’t know by now, we’re talking ‘bout Chi-town.”

The team wanted to make sure they made it to the White House before Obama left office, and will get the chance to do so, as reported by NBC Chicago.
Obama wanted to make sure they got there, too. After all, he lived there for more than a few years.
It is a longstanding tradition for championship-winning teams to visit the White House, beginning as early as the 1920s, but it became more standard during Ronald Reagan’s administration.
Richard Jefferson of the Cavs said when the Cavaliers visited the White House in November after winning the NBA championship that they would be the last team to visit the president, hinting that he and some players would decline to visit in a Donald Trump White House. Iman Shumpert said straight up he would be skipping any visits.
Players have declined to visit the White House before, but a whole franchise? That’d be something else.
