If you thought John Wall lost a step, think again.
John Wall’s handles 1, Al-Farouq Aminu’s defense 0
Marcin Gortat’s screen: 29

In the third quarter of Washington’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers, Wall unleashed a vicious set of dribble moves that would have left any defender reaching to conclusions.
But Al-Farouq Aminu isn’t just any defender — he’s one of the best the league has to offer. That’s why it took a devastating (legal?) screen set by Marcin Gortat to finish send Aminu tumbling to the hardwood. Wall then found Gortat with a slick bounce pass finished with an easy lay-in.
Here’s another angle, where you can see Wall’s devastating Shammgod move giving the Blazers’ perimeter defender fits.
The Wizards went on to win, 120-101, to advance to 21-19 on the season. Wall finished with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting, along with seven assists, and two steals.
Don’t look now, but Washington is fifth in the Eastern Conference.
