If anything was cleared up during the Warriors-Thunder game on Wednesday, it was that five steps is a travel in the NBA. Russell Westbrook decided to test the waters and see just how far he could walk, and the study shows that five steps is too far.

What’s most interesting here during Westbrook’s leisurely stroll is that it appears the referees may not have even called this a travel. It wasn’t until the Warriors started complaining that the whistle was blown. I have no idea what was going through Westbrook’s head, but it was great entertainment.
Westbrook made up for it several plays later with this ridiculous dunk. Mike Breen referred to it as “nuclear athleticism.” I guess that’s a pretty accurate description for Russ.
