Red Wings minor leaguer makes kid’s day with a surprise snow shower

Adorable!

Snow showers are a faux pas in hockey. If you stop so suddenly in front of an opposing goalie that you, well, shower him with icy snow, you’re going to get gang-tackled by his teammates.

For example:

Ironic that the Red Wings are featured there because their minor league affiliate turned snow showers into an adorably awesome thing on Thursday.

Grand Rapids Griffins player Matt Ford made a young fan’s day with a terrific prank before their game.

Look at that face! That kid is covered in snow and full of hockey joy.

It’s worth noting this isn’t the first time the Griffins have made a kid’s day. Last year, a kid just wanted to high-five Jordin Tootoo. He ended up with a stick!

The Griffins are bringing joy back to the world.
