Brian Scalabrine casually prepared for a TV segment that had already started

Oops.

It’s not just the preseason for the players in the NBA. It’s the preseason for the TV crews as well, and we saw a little bit of rust on Monday.

During halftime of Hornets-Celtics, Brian Scalabrine was on the NBC Sports Boston broadcast, only he didn’t know that. He looked around a bit confused and said “I don’t think we are.” Presumably referring to being live on TV, he just kept preparing for his segment, which was already going on.

You even can pinpoint the moment he realized he was actually live because one moment he’s reading his notes and the next he jolts upright, staring at the camera ready to start his segment for real this time.

Maybe he didn’t think he would be live while the halftime game was going on? No worries. Candid moments like these happen. We’re sure the White Mamba will be in playoff form for regular season broadcasts in no time.
