Mark Cuban would want your vote for president if it’s for his ideas and not his fame

Getting elected for his reality TV fame isn’t enough for Cuban.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is still open to the idea of running for president in 2020, but stopped short of committing to a campaign.

Appearing on the Viewpoint podcast, Cuban said his decision would need to be based on whether he thinks he can help the country. He won’t run simply because he thinks his fame will be enough to carry him to a win, according to a write up from The Washington Free Beacon.

“If it comes down to, ‘Do I think I can win because I can convince more people to vote for me?’ Then no, I won’t run,” Cuban said.

It could be a case of life imitating art, should Cuban choose to run. He already has experience playing the president in a movie, which he did extremely well in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

Cuban has garnered fame outside of sports thanks to his regular appearances on investment reality TV show Shark Tank. In 2015 he publicly stated that he could beat both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, but ultimately chose not to run.

If Cuban did decide to run it would be as an independent. He said on the podcast that neither political party interests him, saying he prefers to remain objective on issues. It remains unclear if Cuban is being serious about running, but wilder things have happened in politics.
