David Ortiz is an absolute delight, but when it comes to picking the winner of World Series games Big Papi has batted .000. Before each game he’s been asked to make a prediction by FOX, and six-out-of-six times he’s been wrong.

Welp.

Getting a game wrong here or there is expected, but making six wrong guesses in a row is almost more impressive than getting any right. In a pure 50/50 odds game you only have a 1.56 percent chance of picking incorrectly six times in a row, and that’s with something like a coin flip — no picking baseball games, which requires a level of insight.
Ortiz isn’t alone when it comes to botched predictions. Earlier this year ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was on an impressive 0-6 run himself, when he incorrectly predicted the NBA Finals winner from 2010-2016. It wasn’t until this year when he picked the Warriors that Smith FINALLY got one right.
We don’t know who Ortiz is predicting in Game 7 yet. There are some reports he’ll make his pick shortly before the game begins, and it’ll be Big Papi’s last chance this season to get a pick correct. If he’s wrong then he’ll be all alone as the worst picker in sports.
