Embiid took off his jersey after the game and immediately looked to give it to a fan. Out of the corner of his eye, he spied a young boy wearing a Sixers shirt and walked past dozens of clamoring fans to give it to him. Little did Embiid know at the time, but it was the boy’s birthday.
The boy looked a little bashful and surprised, but after all he’d just gotten what will be a truly historic jersey and had an NBA camera record the whole thing. Huge shout out to all the awesome dudes behind the father and son as well, who broke into song and sang Happy Birthday when they heard it was the kid’s big day.
The NBA is the best.
