FOX 5 in New York needed to ask people on the street about walking under scaffolding, and they randomly found Klay Thompson.

He handled this well.

As interviews go, this makes sense. Thompson is much taller than most of us, allowing him to really get a close look at the scaffolding — and it’s clear he’s thought about this quite a lot. The Warriors star says he likes to check to see how old the pipes are before committing to walking under the scaffold, and might even avoid it if it looks old.
It’s kind of amazing FOX 5 just wanted to stick to scaffolding. You’d think it would be OK to diverge a little and talk about basketball — but we’ve heard from Thompson enough about the NBA. We barely knew his feelings about scaffolding, until now.
Later in the day Klay was asked about the interview and he admitted that the reporter didn’t know who he was — it was only the cameraman who realized it was Klay Thompson.
A little bit of anonymity is nice.
