FIFA unveiled the 2018 Russia World Cup poster on Tuesday and it’s pretty dang awesome.

This is very good.

The video unveiling of the poster is Russia distilled into a video featuring art evocative of Soviet-era advertising, and taking us though World Cup history while extolling Russia’s contributions to the world — like the Sputnik satellite. Which then becomes a twinkle in a person’s eye ... look, it’s all neat.
Lev Yashin graces the poster, and rightfully so. “The Black Spider” played 14 years for the USSR in international play, and never allowed a goal in 74 matches. He’s the perfect icon for the poster itself.
