Angus Crichton is tired of his middle finger and is choosing to get rid of it before the NRL season begins in Australia. The rugby league player, a fullback for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, is opting to have his finger amputated halfway down, instead of playing and risking it getting broken again.

Crichton, who is only 21 years old, is choosing to have the surgery now to avoid potentially missing three months when the season begins in 2018. The finger, which has been broken multiple times, no longer has a joint in it after being fused together.
“The doctor said I could either cut it off halfway or fuse it. I’ve had it fused several times now because I keep breaking it. I can’t bend the finger, so it’s like I’m constantly giving people the bird. If I clench my fist, my middle finger sticks out.”
After having four procedures done on the finger the player is finally tired of having to deal with his digit.
“I’m going to have it cut in half because I’m just over it,” he said.
On the one hand you can’t really blame the guy, but on the other this is absolutely bananas. Par for the course when it comes to rugby players, really.
