Court dates come and go, but the Dawgs appearing in the Rose Bowl? That’s something special. Court documents out of Georgia show how one judge agreed to delay a trial scheduled to Jan. 2, all because of the Rose Bowl.
This Dawgs fan got a judge to move a court date because Georgia is in the College Football Playoff
Football is life.

The petition, filed in Chatham County Court, is three pages outlining why the Dawgs’ appearance in the Rose Bowl is such a big deal, while explaining how the plaintiff’s brother got tickets to the game and they won’t be back until after the court date.
It’s a strong argument that cites facts, stats, and figures of why the occasion is momentous, and it closes strongly.
“It is truly great to be a Georgia Bulldawg, and to have a loving and generous brother who has given me the opportunity to watch the Dawgs take on the Sooners in the most famous stadium in the land on New Year’s Day, at what will hopefully be the last stop before we play for, and win, a national championship. For this reason, I respectfully request that the court remove this case from the trial calendar or January 2, 2018, so that I may return home from the Rose Bowl that day. Plaintiff will seek no further continuances.”
This has happened before too. In 2007 a Louisiana judge delayed a trial when LSU was set to meet Ohio State in the National Championship game. Some things are more important than legal proceedings. Meanwhile I can’t even get out of jury duty.
