Blackhawks and Wild fans bury rivalry to get married during pregame

This is actually pretty great!

Hockey brings people together.

Usually not division rivals, though. Those lines are difficult to cross. Unless you’re Kent Johnson and Shanta Balut.

Kent is a Blackhawks fan. Shanta is a Wild fan. The couple healed rivalry wounds on Tuesday by getting married on the ice at Xcel Energy Center before the Wild and Blackhawks played.

Our favorite things about this:

  • KENT’S TIE/JERSEY COMBO IS FIRE
  • The jersey choices here are excellent.
  • The wedding party (is that the right term? I am not an expert) got into the spirit and wore jerseys, too.
  • THEY LOOK SO HAPPY

If you’re going to get married at a sporting event, this is how to do it. Congrats to the happy couple! We hope they can Crawford a fun honeymoon.
