Championship tattoos can be tempting to get, and understandably so — for a sports fan, it’s one of the most permanent and hardcore ways to show one’s fandom and to celebrate a championship win. It’s also a little puzzling when fans get those proclamations before their team wins a championship, because there’s no guarantee.
Cubs’ Javier Baez got a sweet-looking World Series tattoo

It’s always a more sensible idea to get a championship tattoo after the championship game, and that’s what the Cubs’ Javier Baez did. Here he is on Friday, showing off the final version of his World Series tattoo, complete with the year, the trophy, MLB’s logo, and the Cubs’ logo:
(You can see an unfinished version from this fan’s tweet.)
According to MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat, that tattoo won’t be by itself in the near future, as Baez plans to get tattoos of his family right next to it.
Javy, if you’re reading this, I have an idea, and you should save some room if you decide this is a tattoo worth getting: I think you should get a tattoo of you juggling your gum and saving it from the floor. Sure, you were the Cubs’ secret weapon in the postseason, but that gum moment is probably your greatest highlight.
