2 Staten Island ponies made great escape and had themselves a snow day

They were later corralled by NYPD.

As Winter Storm Stella battered the East Coast Tuesday, some living things hunkered down, while others took advantage of the weather — namely, these two ponies.

According to ABC, the ponies escaped from a Staten Island stable and ambled along a neighborhood road.

Though they were eventually caught by a police officer who rigged up a sort of lasso and tied them to a lamp post, they seemed to enjoy their snow day.

Here the lil guys are, safe and sound.

If that’s the fence they broke through, it isn’t hard to see how they made their escape.

We’re just glad the ponies made it home without incident, and they got to check out a bit of winter wonderland.
