It was a good metaphor.
Comey used a football metaphor — that many people can relate to — to describe Vladimir Putin’s hatred for Hillary Clinton.
He said, “I hate the New England Patriots, and no matter who they play, I’d like them to lose.”
Comey essentially said that Hillary Clinton was the New England Patriots in the election, and that Putin wanted her to lose no matter what. This came after a representative from Texas used a college football version of the analogy to seemingly try and argue that Putin could’ve had the same opinion of both Clinton and Trump.
A lot of people can relate to this; it’s just weird to see that metaphor used on that stage.
