During Friday’s Cavaliers-Hornets game, this father came prepared to teach his son a lesson about doing well in school. He brought a sign to the game that told his son Thomas to fix his grades, and if he does, he’ll get to attend another Cavs game.
This Cavs fan crafted a sign full of tough love for his son and his bad grades

USA Today photographer Jeremy Brevard captured the tough love:
And if you’re wondering if he got on TV with that sign, according to Reddit, he did:
Thomas, if you’re reading this, I hope you’re doing alright after getting burned by your dad via his sign. I hope, in the years to come, you can look back at this and laugh a bit at what your dad did. Grades aside, the fact that he went to FedEx to print out a poster-sized sign about you means that he cares about your education.
Also, the use of the teary-eyed emoji probably stings a bit, but it’s also hilarious. Your dad Googled “crying emoji” and printed it out. That’s how much he cares: he printed out an emoji. That’s kind of respectable on that front.
Feel free to use this tactic on your own basketball-loving children, Thomas.
