Adrian Peterson was interviewed by a reporter who didn’t recognize him until it was over

Adrian Peterson, who’s about to become a free agent, was interviewed this week by Fox 26 Houston’s John Donnelly for a news segment about road rage. Peterson gave an earnest answer to a question about someone going road rage on him and how, unfortunately, road rage situations can go badly. The thing is, though, Donnelly had no idea he was talking to Peterson, which turned into an awkward, but lighthearted ending to the interview.
“All right, your name?”
“Adrian Peterson.”
“Wait a minute. You’re not...”
“Yeah.”
[Everyone laughs]
It’s about as amazing as that time Chris Long got interviewed for a Powerball segment, except Long had a disguise and used a fake name.
Also, in the text version of Donnelly’s story, Peterson’s not cited as an NFL running back — he’s just “driver Adrian Peterson.”
“Kind of slammed on the brakes in front of me and I was able to maneuver and get around him. It took everything in me not to flip him the bird,” said driver Adrian Peterson.
Over a month ago, Peterson said the Texans were a potential landing spot in his free agency. If he ends up playing for them, then Donnelly will definitely know what Adrian Peterson looks like.
