How far are you willing to go to ensure you don’t miss a second of your team’s playoff game? One Penguins fan went further than you’re willing to after he denied medical treatment after being stabbed in the head with a screwdriver until the series opener between Pittsburgh and Columbus finished.
Penguins fan gets stabbed in the head with screwdriver, refuses treatment until game is over

The Guardian reports of a stabbing at an auto detail shop just after 9 p.m. local time. Where they found a 43-year-old man bleeding after he was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver following an altercation. From there, well —
“Police said the victim refused treatment for the laceration from paramedics on the scene, stating he would drive himself to UPMC Mercy hospital at the end of the game.”
The Penguins tweeted about their victory at 10:17 p.m., meaning the man sat in an auto shop bleeding from a stab wound for over an hour before taking himself to hospital. A stab that came from a screwdriver, demonstrably a horrible thing to be stabbed with.
This started an interesting conversation here at SB Nation. If you HAD to be stabbed would you rather be stabbed with a knife, or a screwdriver?
The arguments for both are clear. A knife could potentially do a lot more damage as stabbing is its intended purpose, but a screwdriver’s dull properties could lead to a far worse wound. There are added elements to this, too, including the possible cleanliness of both items and ease of treating the wound from medical professionals.
After a poll of the office we were at 3-2 in favor of the knife. We needed more data.
The vote is currently at 7-4 in favor of knife. Only you can help decide this.
