There’s a very real struggle on Reddit for dog lovers. Denizens of r/cavaliers gather each day to discuss their love of Cavalier King Charles spaniels, and routinely get their pup discussions ruined by lost Cleveland Cavaliers fans.
Cavs fans are making a mess of r/cavaliers, a subreddit for dog enthusiasts

The latest came after the Cavaliers beat the Pacers on Saturday night. Immediately after the game, a thread shot to the top of r/cavaliers as a controversial topic.
Every few months this becomes a problem. Dog enthusiasts do their best to try and inform lost users.
But sometimes things get a little more absurd. The worst time for Cavalier King Charles spaniel owners was in 2014. LeBron James was making his second decision, and basketball fans in Cleveland were beside themselves hoping their king would return. When he finally announced he’d be back with the Cavaliers, r/cavaliers had a crisis and dog lovers didn’t know how to deal with their newfound fame.
So, they turned to humor.
Over time, Cavalier King Charles spaniel enthusiasts became content with their lot in life. Frequent visits from Cavs fans softened them, and soon very nice interactions were happening on posts about LeBron and the Cavs.
Now the two coexist peacefully. The yin and the yang of Reddit. Dog owners looking to discuss their favorite breed, and Cavaliers fans looking to discuss their favorite lead — which was a 3-1 lead the Warriors blew in the NBA Finals.
