Malcolm Brogdon asked the Bucks to donate his Rookie of the Year campaign budget to charity

In the age of social media, NBA teams can get a little silly with making campaigns that urge people to vote for their players for certain honors. You see this a lot around All-Star Game time, where someone like Kemba Walker ends up dressing like Walker, Texas Ranger.

We’re nearing the end of the regular season, and with that comes award voting among select members of the media. The Bucks sent a press release that essentially vouches for Malcolm Brogdon to earn Rookie of the Year, but it was prefaced with an explanation on why the team is keeping its campaign simple. Instead of spending money to make a silly Rookie of the Year campaign, Brogdon wanted the Bucks to give that budget to charity instead:

Although it would’ve been hilarious to see Brogdon’s face made with a bunch of fake $1 bills, this alternative is pretty neat. Will Brogdon get enough votes to win Rookie of the Year? Who knows? There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Dario Saric when discussing the Rookie of the Year race. But as the Bucks mentioned, Brogdon has a resume worthy of the honor, including this critical shot that helped the Bucks defeat the Celtics on March 29:
