Any time you get a huge crowd of celebrating fans something bad is bound to happen. However, Ottawa Senators fans celebrating their team’s win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday night refused to let their city get destroyed. In fact, they even refused to cross the street unless the light was green.
Ottawa Senators fans celebrated win over Rangers in the most polite way possible

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
Celebrating in the middle of the street until the light turned red is being billed as “the most Canadian celebration,” which isn’t quite right. In fact, this non-jaywalking phenomenon has happened before -- and not just in Canada.
Seahawks fans in Seattle did the same after winning the Super Bowl.
Japanese soccer fans also refused to jaywalk after beating Denmark in the 2010 World Cup.
Blue Jays fans in Toronto lost it after beating the Rangers in the playoffs, but only when it was acceptable.
Okay, so maybe two-out-of-four examples do show that Canada has a penchant to celebrate politely. By the same token, let’s just remember that the country takes losses just as badly as the rest of the world.
