Alonzo Mourning is still shaking his head in 2017 at the NBA draft lottery

If you don’t know who former NBA player Alonzo Mourning is, you might know Alonzo Mourning the gif. You know the one. He’s sitting on the bench next to Gary Payton in what looks like a blowout game and he’s staring into the void, slowly shaking his head in disappointment.
But he eventually finds the silver lining in the situation and shrugs it off. That was years ago, but he’s still shaking his head, even though he didn’t quite find the upside this time. Alonzo isn’t pleased with the 2017 draft order.
He was chosen to be the Miami Heat’s representative this year, hoping he would bring the team good luck. Instead, that familiar feeling from that gif made its return. Alonzo didn’t like that the team is selecting No. 14, but Twitter appreciated his reaction to it.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be an upside, though. The draft lottery only determines the order, but the Heat could still select the best player if everything works in their favor. Isaiah Thomas was once the last pick of the draft, after all.
