Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Cavaliers and Celtics ended in a blowout win for Cleveland — at one point, the Cavs had a 50-point lead, which blew many people’s minds. Gabrielle Union happened to catch the game on Friday, and the score was so lopsided, she made an observation about the rest debate that took over the season:
Gabrielle Union defended Dwyane Wade on Twitter while also roasting him for being old

It’s a topic worth discussing, because after months of seeing NBA superstars resting for nationally televised games, seeing fans get disappointed not being able to see someone like LeBron James play, and debating whether teams should rest their players, we’re seeing the results in the playoffs — that maybe resting players during the regular season was the right move after all. Specifically, we’re seeing results through the Warriors and Cavs, who are currently on track to sweep everyone on the way to the Finals.
Eventually, someone brought up Union’s husband, Dwyane Wade, in an attempt to ruffle her feathers and insinuate that she might have been talking about Wade and that he’s no longer in the playoffs — and he’s old.
To be fair, Wade had a sad dunk attempt during this year’s playoffs:
Union had a masterclass response, in which she defended Wade, bragged about his championships, and then roasted the hell out of his age.
This is not the first time Union’s tweet-dunked on Wade before — when Bleacher Report made a joke after the aforementioned sad dunk attempt, asking “Who moved the rim on D-Wade?” this was her response:
All of this is to say that Union is really good at Twitter, and no one is safe from her roasts — not even her husband.
