Fenerbahce player loses man bun because of EuroLeague bet with teammate

Fenerbahce came away with the EuroLeague championship title on Sunday with an 80-64 win over Olympiacos. The victory was extra special since it took place in the team’s hometown of Istanbul, which also led to a really great Salt Bae postgame sighting. Salting the trophy wasn’t the only way Fenerbahce celebrated — apparently, Pero Antić and Gigi Datome had a hair bet that if their team won, Datome would have to sacrifice his man bun to Antić.

Here’s the ceremonial cutting of the man bun:

Later, in a Twitter video from EuroLeague, Datome said “it was a tough bet, but I had to keep the promise.”

On the bright side, he’s now a EuroLeague champion who happens to look like he records moody post-rock music in his free time.
