There’s always someone at a baseball game who impulsively chases or targets a foul ball, sometimes when the other hand is occupied holding popcorn or a beer. It makes sense that people would do this because that’s a free souvenir heading their way. It’s totally innocuous, but sometimes it can get scary too.
Fan misses foul ball at Fenway Park, has alarming tumble in upper deck
During Friday’s Mariners-Red Sox game, a fan attempted to catch a foul ball that was flying his way into the upper seating area. The man missed the ball and lost his balance, causing him to tumble two seats beneath him.
It could have gone so much worse for the fan, but thankfully, he didn’t tumble any farther and fall from the upper deck.
