Hockey player apologizes for throwing stick at cameraman after Memorial Cup loss

Sometimes emotions get the best of people, especially when it comes to losing a championship game. Troy Timpano of the Erie Otters exemplified that on Sunday night, when his team faced the Windsor Spitfires for the Memorial Cup. When the Spitfires won, a cameraman went by the Otters’ box to get reaction shots; a couple seconds later, Timpano threw his stick at the cameraman.

Right at the end of the video, you can see a coach yelling at Timpano to cool his temper. The incident was totally uncalled for, and he realized that after the game. Timpano tweeted an apology saying that it’s “not in my character to do something like this.”
