Jets fan kept messaging team to draft Jamal Adams until they finally did

Slid into the DMs

Who says fans can’t influence their teams?

I’m not saying Mr. Kyle Teichert actually caused the Jets to pick Jamal Adams sixth overall in the 2017 draft, but hey, at least the team acknowledged his wishes!

You can’t fault him for his dedication either. I’m happy for him, truly.

Really, everyone should be glad here. I’m happy for Jamal Adams, a safety out of LSU who won a years-old bet with his father, George Adams, that he would go earlier in the draft. (George went No. 19 in 1985.)

I’m also happy for the Jets. Their defense needed help and hopefully Adams is part of the answer to their needs.

Sometimes, sliding into the DMs works out, I guess.
