Rob Gronkowski, patron saint of antics, got his own monster truck. Monster Jam had an event at Gillette Stadium over the weekend, and they surprised Gronk on Friday with a truck decked out in New England Patriots colors, and Monster Energy Drink logo, because he’s sponsored by them. Synergy!
Rob Gronkowski got a monster truck, and somehow it’s not called a ‘Gronkster Truck’
Yeah, that sounds about right.

Even though he was thrilled, he also learned that it’s tough to get into one of these things, remarking that he couldn’t even fit into the Gronk truck. Gronk is much happier to see the truck from the outside, which he did on Saturday. The truck, which was driven by Buddy Tompkins, won second place in the freestyle event, scoring a 9.329. Not bad.
Two regrets about this monster truck:
1. Y’all, you had a pun sitting right in front of you: “Gronkster Truck.” Instead, its official name is “Monster Energy’s Gronk.” That’s way less exciting.
2. The number on the car is 87. Sure, it’s a reference to his number with the Patriots, but to make it a true Gronk monster truck, it needs the number. The nice one.
