Disney World is a place full of wonder and magic and San Jose Sharks player Brent Burns looking like a pirate. Or at least that’s what kids at the amusement park thought when they asked the NHL player for an autograph — not because he’s a pro athlete, but because they believed he was Captain Jack Sparrow.
Kids at Disney World thought Sharks’ Brent Burns was a pirate, and who can blame them
It must be the beard.

And after examining the photographic evidence, I don’t think we can blame the kids for this one:
Wait, you mean to tell me that ISN’T a real life pirate? I don’t know, I find that hard to believe. There’s no way the bearded man in that picture hasn’t done some swashbuckling in his day.
Burns told the story while in Las Vegas for the NHL awards, where he was nominated for (and eventually won) the Norris Trophy, given to the league’s best defenseman. But while that’s an honor, he might have been more happy about his time in Disney with his family:
“I actually signed a couple autographs in kids books because they thought I was a pirate — and I signed ’em,” he told an interviewer.
And from his other pictures, it looks like the super tough hockey star had a great time at the parks:
Only problem with this photo is you can’t tell the two guys in the back apart.
An animal on the ice and an animal at Disney world — you have to appreciate the dedication.
But it looks like Burns and his family had a great time at Disney — whether he was dressed like a pirate or a yeti or a hockey player or just a dad.
