This incredible scooter backflip will give your ankles sympathy pains

Scooters never reached the extreme-sports zenith of skateboarding or inline skating, but Ryan Williams definitely made them cool again on Wednesday by landing a stunning backflip as part of preparation for the Nitro Circus.

The thing that makes this clip so amazing is how little shock absorption a scooter has. Unlike a skateboard, there’s next to no flex in its steel frame, meaning you’re basically taking all the force on your ankles. Not only did Williams manage to backflip, but he flipped the scooter, too. It’s just awesome.

Williams nails a lot of tricks both in scooter and BMX on his Instagram account. This first-person jump is spectacular, too.

We’ll just be over here icing our ankles from sympathy pains.
