As if being in the Home Run Derby wasn’t cool enough, New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez is showing up to the big event with the COOLEST custom bats out there.

Yeah, that’s right — these are custom, Kraken-themed bats. Kraken, as in the giant mythical octopus creature and the sound bats make when you’re knocking ‘em out of the park. It’s also Sanchez’s nickname, according to Yankees GM Brian Cashman.
The bats were designed by Victus Sports, a company that handcrafts unique designs on bats and other equipment. And just look at the effort that went into creating these bad boys:

And it all paid off — that’s a fine-looking bat.
Sanchez and other players will be allowed to use custom bats at the Home Run Derby, a change from the regular season. So be on the lookout Monday night for some cool custom gear as players show of their slugging and their swag.
