Julian Edelman received a letter from a former teacher that profusely apologized for ever doubting his dreams of making it to the NFL. It’s ... problematic.
Julian Edelman’s teacher from 2006 sent him a letter apologizing for doubting him

The teacher, purportedly from his ENGL100 class at the College of San Mateo in Spring of 2006 wanted to take the opportunity to make amends for an off-handed comment made during the class, which doubted his ability to make it to the NFL without appreciating his “tenacity and grit” reads like a random fan letter, not something anyone who claims to be an English teacher would have written.
The letter mispells “disdain” (written as “distain”) and contains numerous bizarre style choices, errant commas and a host of other problems. It’s also incredible to see a person in 2017 use the phrase “tenacity and grit” without being ironic.
Edelman transferred from the College of San Mateo shortly after this incident happened. The next semester he was playing quarterback for Kent State and the rest is history. He continued his career all the way to become a Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, the teacher, well — we don’t know, other than their letter writing needs some work.
